Two new halls have appeared in the Virtual Museum of Jewish History and Culture of Ukraine

 

— one of the most tragic sites of Holocaust memory in Ukraine. This page offers a historical overview of the events related to the mass shootings in Kyiv during the Nazi occupation, as well as introduces documents, testimonies, and materials that help understand the scale of the tragedy and its contextual interpretation in the post-war period.  

 

— an outstanding researcher of Jewish musical folklore, ethnomusicologist, and one of the most important collectors and scholars of traditional Jewish musical culture in Eastern Europe. The materials on this page highlight his scientific work, archival legacy, and the significance of his studies for the understanding of Jewish musical traditions.  

 

The Virtual Museum of Jewish History and Culture of Ukraine is created as an open digital space for presenting research results, popularizing archival materials, and reflecting on the history and culture of Jewish communities in Ukraine. The new pages continue to expand the museum’s exposition, combining academic research with accessible presentation formats for a broad audience.  

 

The project "Jewish Heritage in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Reflections Through the Lenses of Archival Documents, Culture, History and Literature" is implemented by the National University of ǿմý Academy with the support of UNESCO and the European Union.
